Does Hand in hand accept donations?

All donations will take place outside in our parking lot. We are limited in what we may be able to accept.

Seasonal Clothing

We are now accepting summer clothing, accessories and items.

We Gratefully Accept New & Gently Used

  • Accessories: belts, shoes, handbags, and jewelry

  • Antiques, collectibles, and vintage housewares

  • Area rugs - with approval

  • Books - with approval

  • Cameras and camera equipment

  • CDs, DVDs, Blue Ray discs, and records

  • Clothing that is seasonally appropriate: for women, men, teens, children, and infants

  • Flat screen TVs with remote, power cord & stand, DVD and CD players

  • Furniture - wood -such as chairs, small tables, dressers, bureaus, china cabinets, dining room sets, end tables, desks, and hutches, and patio and wicker furniture. No upholstered furniture. All furniture must be pre-approved. Please see below for for information on how to donate furniture.

  • Home decor, home goods, and artwork

  • Housewares - including small appliances in working order

  • Lamps - in working order

  • Linens - towels, tablecloths, runners, napkins, sheets, comforters, and blankets

  • Luggage - clean and gently used

  • Musical instruments

  • Pet items and supplies - clean and gently used

  • Stereo equipment/sound systems

  • Sporting goods in season, including bicycles

  • Toys - prefer new or gently used, including games, puzzles, and Legos®

  • Video games and consoles

We Must Decline

  • Baby Equipment: car seats, cribs, highchairs, play pens, etc.

  • Bed frames, headboards, footboards

  • Bed pillows, mattresses, mattress pads, decorative throw pillows, and air mattresses

  • Computers, laptops, and printers

  • Curtains, drapes, and blinds

  • Encyclopedias

  • Exercise equipment

  • Furniture that is upholstered, leather, oversized or made of particle board

  • Grills

  • Hangers

  • Home security/safety - smoke detectors

  • Knives

  • Large appliances including air conditioners, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, space heaters

  • Medical Equipment

  • Non-flat screen TVs

  • Paper Bags

 

Please be aware that we may not be able to accommodate all donations.

ALL furniture donations must be pre-approved.

Please call Hand in hand Thrift Shop at (508) 457-0770 or email photos of your furniture you would like to donate to thriftshop@falmouthservicecenter.org to start the process.

We do offer free pick-up for large, furniture donations. If you have any questions, please call Hand in hand at (508) 457-0770 during regular business hours.

We thank you for your generosity and support! Every sale at the Hand in hand Thrift Shop supports the programs and services of the Falmouth Service Center. By donating your gently used furniture and household items, not only are you keeping reusable items out of our landfills, you’re supplying our community with quality items that we can offer at discounted prices.
